The event kicked off with a colourful parade on Monday, where the participating teams from different branches and units of the SANDF displayed their flags and uniforms.

The Military Skills Competition is a prestigious event that tests the physical and mental abilities of the SANDF members in various disciplines, such as shooting, obstacle course, navigation, first aid, drill, and military knowledge. The competition aims to promote excellence, teamwork, and camaraderie among the SANDF personnel, as well as to showcase their skills and readiness to the public.

The competition is divided into two categories: junior and senior. The junior category is for members who are below the rank of sergeant, while the senior category is for members who are sergeant and above. The teams will compete in different venues across Potchefstroom, such as the SANDF School of Artillery, the SANDF School of Infantry, the SANDF School of Signals, and the Potchefstroom Dam. The competition will culminate in a closing ceremony on Friday, where the winners will be announced and awarded with trophies and medals.

The public is invited to attend and support the event, which is free of charge. For more information, visit the official website of the SANDF.
